Corporate Social Responsibility
Sangi contributes to society in a variety of fields, ranging from Japanese culture and environmental issues to sports.
Our support includes sponsorship of Japanese Shogi chess competitions, awareness-raising events held by local dental associations, a chamber orchestra, and even surf life-saving events.
We have also adopted our own program of action to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs), and have obtained certification under Japan’s Eco Action 21, a unique environmental management system established by the Ministry of the Environment.
Tokyo Sinfonia
Since 2009, we have been a Gold Sponsor of Tokyo Sinfonia, a 19-member chamber orchestra comprising only string instruments.
Guide Dog Support
Since 2010, part of the proceeds of our product sales has been used to support the training of Guide Dogs to help those with disabilities participate more freely in society.
Japanese Chess (Shogi)
Sangi is a founding supporter of Japan’s Ladies Professional Shogi Association (LPSA), a group promoting this national form of chess among women and children, and we proudly sponsor its annual APAGARD CUP.
Women Wine Lovers’ Group
As a corporate member, Sangi supports this association of women who promote the spread, understanding and enjoyment of wine and sake in Japan and overseas (Sake-jo no Kai).
Surf Lifesaving
In 2017, Sangi became an official sponsor of the Lifesaving Patrol Competition, a joint project undertaken by lifesavers from Australia and Japan.
UNHCR
Sangi closely supports the fundraising activities of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Japan, participating in marathons and other promotional events and contributing products and funds.
