Sangi’s proprietary hydroxyapatite approved as an active anticaries ingredient, “Medical Hydroxyapatite.” (<mHAP>)

TV advertising : SANGI's toothpaste captures 20% Japanese market share
Apatite Co., Ltd. and Dental Kagaku Co., Ltd. merged into Sangi Co., Ltd.

Relocation and expansion of Central Research Laboratory

Health drink "Okara-cha" launched

<mHAP> reduced from 3-figure to 2-figure nanoparticle size, enhancing remineralization and natural whitening capability

“Renamel” brand launched exclusively for the dental route

SANGI's hydroxyapatite catalyst project (ethanol to butanol) awarded a development grant from Japan's New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO)

Sangi exhibits for the first time at the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) as pioneer of hydroxyapatite toothpastes

SANGI's next-generation hydroxyapatite powder jet deposition project (PJD), in conjunction with Tohoku University, awarded a 4-year development grant from Japan's Science and Technology Agency (JST)

Toothpaste exports begin, initially to Russia (APADENT and later APAGARD)

Toothpaste exports expand to Canada (OEM brand)

APAGARD's 20th successive year as top-selling brand in Japan’s high-end “esthetic whitening” toothpaste market segment

Toothpaste exports expand to China and Southeast Asia (both brands)
APAGARD Premio awarded the first Most Popular Toothpaste ranking by Japan's top consumer product opinion site @cosme

Establishment of subsidiary SANGI Europe GmbH
APAGARD Premio awarded Hall of Fame status by Japan's top consumer product-ranking site, @Cosme, after being ranked Most Popular Toothpaste by consumers for 3 successive years.

Launch of sales in the EU (both brands)
